The Isles Yacht Club (IYC) Charity Cup is a series of exciting activities and events designed to raise money to support charitable organizations in our local community. These events elicit the largest participation of our 900 members each year. Since 2003, IYC members have raised and donated over $825,000 for charity. Proceeds from this year's fundraising events will benefit the following three charities: Charlotte County Meals on Wheels, Charlotte County Imagination Library, and Charlotte County Homeless Coalition. The organizations will each receive 1/3 of the total funds raised and/or donated during the 2023/2024 fundraising season.
Let's Make a Difference Together!
Charlotte County Meals on Wheels - Meals on Wheels of Charlotte County prepares and delivers about 150 meals daily to homebound senior residents of the county. Their facility on Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte was badly damaged by the hurricane, but they are now back in operation. Meals on Wheels of Charlotte County is a fully qualified 501c charity listed in the Charlotte County Foundation’s Charity Register and is totally funded by local contributions only.
Charlotte County Imagination Library - The Charlotte County Imagination Library is an affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which originated in Sevierville, Tennessee in 1996. The Imagination Library has grown to serve over 1.5 million children across the United States, as well as Canada and the United Kingdom. The program is run by local educators, business owners and community supporters and is funded by local business sponsors and community donations. Imagination Library’s purpose is to promote early childhood development, encourage parent-child interaction, enhance children’s literacy and better prepare youngsters for kindergarten in Charlotte County.
Charlotte County Homeless Coalition- The Homeless Coalition sees a future community free of hunger and homelessness for families, veterans, seniors, etc. They not only provide emergency shelter and food, but also assistance with utilities, rent & mortgage, transportation, employment, navigating government programs, and securing the necessary IDs for employment.
