LOG Article
The Isle-ettes celebrated their 41st birthday party in October. If you missed it, you missed a great day. The turnout was super and the food was wonderful, including the birthday cake.

The “Plant Nurse", Debra Williams, explained how she plants the decorative containers that beautify our Club. She talked about how and why she puts certain plants together in the pots. She showed us how to prep the pots with planting soil, vermiculite and fertilizer, and told us why certain plants should go in different areas of the pots. Debra will return and do a special program on orchids for our Change of Watch in March.

I would like to thank Joy Kiser for her contribution of the door prizes. It was very thoughtful of her. Debra Williams also donated one of her plants as a door prize. Thank you both so much! What a joy it is to have so many wonderful ladies who really care about the Isles Yacht Club and want to get together each month to celebrate women and get to know each other better.

Our November meeting will bring Eva Worden of Worden Farms to our speaker’s podium. She will talk to us about growing organic vegetables, how to buy them at farmers markets and grocery stores, how to prepare them and maybe, she can tell us how to get our families to eat more of them. She has several different classes at the farm and hopefully, she will tell us about those as well.

Keep watching for our upcoming events. They are sure to be fun and informative thanks to the outstanding work of all the Isle-ettes directors. Join us on November 14 and have lunch with the ladies!!
